SEIGO ASADA challenge the PDC

ダーツ世界最高峰のトーナメント PDCワールドダーツチャンピオンシップ。
日本時間 2018年12月18日に1回戦 クリストフ・ラタスキー戦、19日に2回戦 ジェームス・ウェイド戦 日本代表の浅田斉吾が試合を行いました。

1回戦のラタスキー（ポーランド）は今年PDCでブレイクした注目選手のひとりでした。
年末にかけて調子をあげプレイヤーズチャンピオンシップでは2日間連続優勝を達成したりと今ノリに乗ってるラタスキー。
PDCメディアも浅田斉吾の力を認めつつもさすがにラタスキーには勝てないだろうと予想されていた強者です。
ところが浅田は0-2とリーチをかけられたところから怒涛の3セットまくりを成し遂げ、PDCランカー相手に見事初戦突破を果たしました。
試合内容も非常に素晴らしいもので前年のロブ・クロス戦と比較すると技術や数字だけじゃなくアレンジ知識やスイッチング技術も習得していました。
今年のアジアンツアーではそこまでのスティールテクニックを見ることはなかったのでこの年末に向かって本人はかなり練習と勉強を積み重ねてきたことを感じ取ることができました。

日本人がPDCワールドチャンピオンシップでPDCランカーでタイトルを持っている選手に勝利したのは初めてのことです。
これは歴史的快挙と言ってもいいぐらいの1回戦突破だと思います。

1回戦を突破した浅田は翌日のイブニングセッション メインイベントに登場。
PDCランキング9位で数々のメジャータイトルを獲っているジェームス・ウェイドと2回戦を戦いました。
ウェイドもここ最近で勝ちを重ねてこのチャンピオンシップに乗り込んでおり、子供が誕生したことも相まって完全復活と噂されるほど好調の選手。
勝つのは非常に難しいと予想されていましたが、この日の浅田は序盤から飛ばし1セット目のウェイド先攻セットをブレイクして１−０リードと幸先のいいスタートを切りました。

浅田の強さを肌で感じたウェイドは気合を入れ始め徐々に調子をあげ2セット目をブレイクバック。
あまりに気合が入りすぎたウェイドは浅田を威嚇するようなアクションも出ていました。
それも浅田の強さ感じてプレッシャーを受けていたということなのでしょう。
その後試合はもつれ結局最終セット２−２までになる大接戦。
浅田は世界トップ10に入る選手と完全に互角の勝負を見せてくれました。

試合は最後ウェイドが意地を見せて浅田の猛追を振り切って大接戦を制しました。
浅田斉吾は負けはしましたが、ここまでの戦いにSNSでも世界から称賛の声が。
世界でも通用することを証明してくれました。
またウェイドの試合中の態度や勝利インタビューでの内容に関して試合後にSNSで批判が殺到。
それと反してSEIGO ASADAの相手の態度にも屈せずダーツボードに向かう姿勢や振る舞いに世界中から賞賛のコメントが寄せられていました。
まさに日本の誇りですね。

今大会で大活躍だった浅田斉吾。
世界中にその実力と可能性を見せつけることができたと思います。
また真摯に試合と向かう姿に多くのひとが心を打たれたことでしょう。
これで本場PDCでの知名度も一気にあがりましたね。

試合後に斉吾先選手から送られてきたLINEです。
手応えを感じつつ本人はすでに次のステップに進み始めたようです。
本場PDCでも通用する可能性を確証できたからこそでしょうね。

今回はアジア代表として、そしてPDJ優勝者として日本を背負って世界に挑んだ浅田斉吾。

必ず年末のチャンピオンシップで少しでもいいダーツをして帰ってきたいと思います
アジアンツアーも本当に大変なツアーでしたが、
そこでツアーのワールドチャンピオンシップの権利を取ったことも本当に大変なことでした
