今回はスティールダーツの先端の針「ポイント」についての話。
スティールダーツはポイントがあらかじめ装着されて販売されています。
先端の針は交換することができます。
スティールダーツでは自分にあったポイントを装着することが重要です。
スティールダーツの飛び、刺さり、スタッキング（※1）等に大きく影響するセッティングが「ポイント」です。
※1 バレル同士を接触させてターゲットに入れ込む技術
ポイント交換はフライトやシャフトのセッティングよりもダーツに及ぼす影響が大きいです。
それだけに自分の飛びや刺さり、グリップなどに適したポイントを装着することが大切になってきます。
（ポイントはCDオリジナル MK2 38mm)
ポイントにはいろいろな種類があります。
違いは大きく分けると長さ、色、形、カットの有無、材質などなど。
たかが先端の針ですが驚くほどの違いが出ます。
ポイント選びはまず以下の三点が選択基準になると思います。
・ポイントの長さ
・指を置くためのリングカットの有無
・色
その他、矢がボードに刺さらない、すぐ落ちるなどの悩みに対してはそれをカバーできる特徴があるポイントもあります。
自分はこのリポイントのメンテナンスマンとして年間600セットぐらいの交換作業をしています。
最近一番人気があるポイントはこれです。
ＣＤオリジナル ＭＫシリーズ （写真はMK2）
トップ選手たち御用達のポイントで、とにかく評判が良い。
材質が硬い、そして質量が高い、バレルの安定感が増す、よく飛ぶ。
これすべて装着したお客様からの声です。
ポイントというアイテムの最終的な答えがコレなんじゃないかと言われるほどです。
ところがです。
このCDオリジナルのポイントが半年ぐらい前から世界的に品不足に。
そして2019年5月ごろから供給が完全に止まりました。
イギリスの取引先（4社）に問い合わせても「いつ入荷するか分からない」「あきらめてる」などの回答。
これは困った。
非常に優れた性能のポイントですしトップ選手達の多くが使用してるんです。
困りました。代わりになるものがない。
そんなわけでCDポイントと同じものが作れないか、都内の工場などを数件あたってみたのですが結果は惨敗。
作ってくれるところは見つかりませんでした。
作るとしてもロットが大きすぎ（2万本からとか w）
こうなったらやれることはただ1つ。
自分で作る！
やるしかないので、意を決して卓上旋盤を購入しました。
旋盤に関しては知識ゼロ状態です。
とりあえず買ってしまえ！っていう悪い癖が発動しました。
以前から欲しいなとは思ってたんです。
バレルにリングカットいれたりしたいなって。
でもまさかの「CDポイントの代わりになるリングカット入りポイントを作るため」の購入になるとは思ってもいませんでした。
いろいろ買い揃えたら全部で10万円弱しました。
ほんとに素人がこれでCDポイントの代わりになるものを作れるのでしょうか。
とりあえず教えてくれる親切な人がいらっしゃったので、必死に勉強して1日でも早くカスタムポイントが作れるようにならなければと思ってます。
ちなみにこれが知識ゼロの状態でとりあえず削ってみたポイントです。
ひどいですねぇぇ。
簡単に出来るんじゃないかとタカをくくっていたのでこの出来には結構ショックをうけました w
ほんとに出来るようになるんだろうか。いや出来るっしょ！
ここからどれぐらい上達できるのか楽しみにしててくださいね。

ちなみに上の写真は試しに削ってみたアルミバレルです。
2本ならんでますが右がもともとのバレルです。
何も考えずとりあえず旋盤でカットを増やしてみました。
左のバレルがカットを入れた、、、と言うかイジりまくったバレルです w
あくまでアルミ製なので簡単でしたが、これがタングステンとなると話しは全然違うと思います。
でもリングカット入れるとかならすぐにできそうかな。
この旋盤を買って1週間後。
CDポイントの販売が終了するって噂が流れてきました。
まだ確かではありませんがCDポイントの38mmは終了が濃厚らしいです。
いいタイミングで旋盤買ったなと w
